- sc – single crochet

🌊 Pattern Instructions
⭐ Center Circle:
- Magic ring, ch 3 (counts as dc), 14 dc into ring, sl st to top of ch 3. (15 dc total)
(Or: ch 4, sl st to form ring, ch 3, then 14 dc into ring.)
⭐ Starfish Arms (repeat 5 times around):
Each arm is worked into 3 stitches from the base.
- Ch 1, sc in next st
- hdc in next
- dc in next
- tr in next 3 sts
- dc, hdc
- sc
- sl st into next stitch to anchor the arm
(Use increases/decreases to shape the arm nicely. See the diagram for precise stitch placement.)
Repeat around to create all 5 arms.
🧡 Finishing Round – Smooth and Shape the Starfish:
After completing all 5 arms, continue to the shaping round to give your starfish a beautiful smooth edge:
- Start in the first stitch of the first arm.
- Ch 3, make 3 dc, 4 hdc, 2 sc along the edge of the first arm
- Continue this pattern around each arm:
3 dc, 4 hdc, 2 sc per arm - Work the stitches evenly across the curves of each arm to create that soft, rounded, puffy look as shown in the chart/photo
- Sl st to join at the end
This gives the starfish its lovely curved silhouette!
