Foundation:
Chain a multiple of 12 + 1 extra.
Example: Chain 37 (12 Γ 3 + 1)

Row 1:
Double crochet (dc) in the 4th chain from hook and in each chain across. Turn.
Row 2:
Ch 3 (counts as dc), skip 1, dc in next, ch 1, repeat across.
Row 3:
Ch 2, dc in each stitch and chain space across.
Row 4:
Ch 2, hdc in each stitch across.
Row 5:
Ch 3, dc in next stitch,
Ch 5, skip 1, dc3tog (3 dc across next 3 sts), ch 5, skip 1, dc3tog across next 3 sts,
repeat this pattern to end.
Row 6:
Ch 5, sc in center of next chain-5 space below, ch 5, dc in center of next chain-5 space below,
repeat.
Row 7:
